In 2002, jewelry designer and native New Yorker Lori Rae Silvers' life took an unexpected detour when whe was diagnosed with breast cancer. Today, Lori Rae is cancer-free and she is determined to help educate others on the importance of early detection and fund research in the fight against breast cancer. Lori Rae has created a lighthearted piece of jewelry as an expression of her experience with her illness. The pin, charm or pendant is a take-off on the pink breast cancer ribbon, and shaped into a flip-flop to express Lori Rae's love for the beach. A portion of the proceeds will benefit breast cancer research and advocacy. Lori Rae's work has been featured in many national publications and fine boutiques around the world. Her pieces have appeared on several soap operas.
